Through a carefully balanced combination of live performance, lecturing, and prepared listening examples of classic recordings from jazz icons including Miles Davis and John Coltrane, jazz saxophonist and clinician Shenole Latimer educates his audience about how to follow along with jazz tunes, as well as what is involved with learning how to listen to and appreciate music from the jazz idiom. No prior knowledge of jazz is needed by the audience. Shenole Latimer designed this presentation with the average music listener in mind.

Requirements

Chalk or marker board, a microphone in rooms that seat 50 people or more, a PA or sound system is helpful but not absolutely necessary.
