Isham A. Latimer is an active member of the New York State law enforcement community, and has received numerous commendations for high profesissional standards of conduct, sound tactical judgement, and restraint under critical circumstances.

Due in part to being an academic counselor at John J. College of Criminal Justice from November, 1979 through September, 1992, Isham possesses an extensive background in counseling and crisis intervention. In addition, Latimer holds a Masters Degree in Social Work acquired from the Graduate School of Social Work at Stony Brook University in 1979.

Among Latimer's many impressive credentials are his certifications as a Fire Arms Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Armed Security Guard Instructor, and his National Incident Management System certification from the New York State Department of Homeland Security. It is because of his high caliber list of credentials that Isham A. Latimer is a much sought after lecturer in topics dealing with home security, self defense, and crisis management.
